To make a noun possessive add an apostrophe (’) and an s to the end. The kid’s toy.

Most nouns can be singular or plural. To make a noun plural you usualy add s or es to the end of the word.

Proper and Common Nouns

Proper Noun - a noun that denotes a particular thing; usually capitalized.

Just as nouns are naming words, proper nouns name specific people, places, things or ideas. The key here is the word specific. Proper nouns are also titles.

noun - The part of speech that is used to name a person, place, thing, quality, or action and can function as the subject or object of a verb, the object of a preposition, or an appositive.

Nouns are naming words. They identify people, places, objects, ideas and eomotions. Nouns are pretty much anything that is or can be named. Their function is to name something.
